It doesn't stop at just recipes. The Penang Passion cookbook also divulges information on spices that are featured heavily in Pennag cuisine, and educates its readers on how these spices have affected the tastes of the food throughout its conception.

This cookbook goes beyond being just another cookbook. It relays a story of taste, visuals, and age old traditions that has gone into creating a unique food culture that can only be found in Penang.

In a world of food manics and munchies hunters, Tze was the lone wolf, impartial to food. To the author, food was nothing more than a substance, a mere necessity as opposed to the glorious symphony of flavours that those close to her see it.

Throughout the years however, she began to develop a connection with it. She began to understand how one can crave for a taste that will satisfy the lingering urges that calls out to the tongue.

Creating this cookbook gave the author a new breathtaking awareness of food, and the extensive amount of creative work that is put into it. It's not a matter of throwing in a few ingredients and hoping for the best. It's a meticulous art and science in its own quirky sense.

Throughout her research, this book brought Tze for a whirlwind journey of tastes, sensualities, as well as the magic of expressing love through food.
