Since she could remember, Tze had always belonged to those who eat to live. However, life has a strange way of turning things around in most unexpected manners.
Her profession, which has seen her through 15 years of involvement in the food industry, has also flown her to International Seafood Shows held in cities like Brussels and Moscow. Interactions with local and international chefs, has profoundly revolutionized her relationship with food. Previously impartial, she has awaken to a breathtaking awareness of food and its creative processes. She believes that it is this awakening that leads her on to a journey of tastes, sensualities and the magic of expressing love through food.
“It is a journey that takes me from seeing food as a sustenance to forming a relationship with the glorious morsels that satisfy not just pangs of hunger, but lifts my spirits, warms my heart, and connects me to the people of my adopted homeland, Penang.” says the graduate of National University of Singapore.
Tze also believes that working on this cookbook has given her greater insights into the chefs' lives. She hopes this book will help convey their well-kept recipes fittingly enough that they find their way into the kitchens and hearts of people who share a love for Penang food.
