Presenting the
Canon Carnival!

The Penang Passion crew (minus Jayson who was busy manning the stall)
Banners draped
the atrium and balloons dangled above bobbed to the boom of the music that
echoed through Gurney generating an energetic buzz intended to hype people up.
From above, a moving sea of pink painted the ground floor as the Pixus staff
donning their trademark pink shirts busily ran here and there, meeting and
greeting, barely managing to pause for a breath. From the 29th April to the 2nd May, Pixus Sdn Bhd
successfully hosted the Canon “all about new” Carnival, a non-stop event with
activities ongoing throughout the day: dance performances, photographer talks,
auctions and a live photo shoot contest.
The Entertainment
Many many
people stopped by the event, keeping everyone working there busy on their feet.
Video cameras, cameras and even printers were up for sale and all were selling
like hot cakes! 'Happy Hour' was a real crowd puller as it was during this hour
that lots of items were getting auctioned off, allowing people to snag some
really great deals: cameras, printers, USB memory sticks, radios and watches.
Pixus were also offering everybody and anybody free help and advise with any of
their faulty Canon items, this included reviving any items that had begun to
function improperly. On various days, Pixus offered its audience free workshop
talks by some of Penang's well established photographers, Arden Khoo and Alvin
Foo, giving the audience tips and valuable insight into what makes a stunning
photo. Later in the evenings, the main stage was dominated by a team of dancers
kicking out moves to new tunes, while simultaneously managing to display and
advertise Canon cameras; an impressive feat not widely achieved by many others.
Meanwhile, over at the Penang Passion photo booth ladies were lining up to get
glamoured up and take part in the Penang Passion Photo Contest putting
themselves in the running to win cameras or a printer. Penang Passion could not
have offered their contestants more: completely free make-up by Stella-In
International using Clio cosmetics and outfits provided by Penang Passion
themselves. Customers were far beyond satisfied with all that was provided for
them and faces soon became familiar with customers returning for more.

The Pixus Crew
The event ran
smoothly with no noticeable hinderances to upset the busy flow of productive
energy that powered the days forth. Pixus exceeded their target sales, much to
their utter delight, and this was announced on day three of the event giving
the Pixus team still a day extra to further improve this mark.

Our Jayson and some of the Pixus staff enjoying themselves
During this Canon Carnival, one got an overwhelming sense of
the sheer intensity of the team spirit instilled within the Pixus staff. There
were smiles all round and a general vibe of happiness and contentment. The
afterglow of the event was met with sadness by the workforce, a sadness that so
many new friends had to prematurely depart so soon after first meeting.
The end to a
colourful event

The Penang
Passion Photo Shoot contest churned out some lucky winners who walked home with
a hamper of goodies including Canon items. Also, photographers who attend the
event walked away more knowledgeable on how to take better photos, all thanks
to the free advise given during the photographer talks. Overall, Pixus offered
its customers an abundance of services and entertainment throughout the four
days it hosted the Canon Carnival. They outdid themselves and helped out a lot
of grateful customers along the way. There will be few who will not be eagerly
anticipating the next time Pixus are to host an event at Gurney Plaza.
